Dr. Muana is double certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He earned his M.D. Degree in April 2000 at the University of the Visayas-Gullas College of Medicine in Cebu Philippines. Dr. Muana had his Internal Medicine Residency and Geriatric Medicine Fellowship training at the New Your Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York. Having practiced both across the U.S. (New York, Virginia, and Hawai'i) and abroad (in the Philippines), Dr. Muana currently enjoys serving our Kaua'i Community at our Ho'ola Lahui Hawaii Waimea Medical Clinic. Dr. Muana is fluent in English as well as Visayan and Tagalog dialects. he was the president of the Philippine Medical Association of Southeastern Virginia in 2016. He co-captained a champion Dragon boat racing team during his fellowship training in New York. He enjoys fishing, detailing cars as well as fixing cars. His favorite sports are basketball, baseball, table tennis and archey. Dr. Muana is married to a Physical Therapist and they have 3 daughters. Born in Madison, Wisconsin and raised in West Virginia, Dr. John Gilmore earned his M.D. at West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Gilmore previously worked in Primary Care Internal Medicine on Kaua'i for eight years and is thrilled to be back home on Kaua'i after practicing for numerous years in California - both in community health care at UCSF and in private practice in Palm Springs.
